LUMINARY WARRIOR
About Luminary Warrior
Luminary Warrior with Global Outreach Ministry entails mentoring European artists. Mentoring happens in the Year-Round Mentoring program, which is a part of the European Leadership Forum (ELF – www.euroleadership.org). Mentoring takes place over regular group Zoom meetings, ongoing submissions of work and interactions on WhatsApp, an in-person, one-week retreat in Budapest, Hungary arranged by ELF, and an in-person convening in Wisla, Poland at ELF. ELF is a function of Forum of Christian Leaders (www.foclinitiatives.org).
Mentoring Goals
Cultivate personal growth in Christ
Develop an integrated theology of the arts where Scripture and mindfulness of the Holy Spirit are foundational for one’s artistry
Equip for missional engagement with culture through one’s art
Meet Brian
As a Luminary Warrior, Brian’s journey is to integrate theology and his art in exhibitions around the world. Such exhibitions have included Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum, LELA International exhibitions in Los Angeles, and Institute of Evangelical and Cultural Research in Rome. Being a practitioner of what he teaches, his experiences fuel and inform his mentoring of others. Through exhibitions, Brian contributes to culture the way he sees reality through a Gospel lens, desiring to make beauty in brokenness.
Brian S. Chan is a professor at Dallas Theological Seminary, an internationally award-winning visual artist, and an author of nonfiction and fiction writings. He teaches on a theology of beauty, creativity, story, film, and art. He speaks to and mentors artists from around the world, empowering them to live for Christ and impact culture with their craft.
